A Crown Derby oval serving bowl and cover hand painted in the ‘King’s Imari’ pattern, early 19th century, painted mark to base, 36cm wide; with a rectangular serving dish and cover in the same pattern, early 19th century, painted mark to base, 26cm wide; and a further rectangular serving dish of the same design, painted mark to base, lacking cover, together with seven Crown Derby soup plates each hand painted in the ‘King’s Imari’ pattern, early 19th century, painted marks to bases, each 25cm diameter; with six Crown Derby side plates in the same pattern, early 19th century, painted marks to bases, each 20cm diameter (18) (at fault)

More Information

One side plate shows an area of stained crazing, hairline cracks to the underside and evidence of restoration. The rectangular serving dish cover show evidence of restoration to the handle. All pieces show fine surface crazing throughout, some stained in places. Most pieces show firing pits and frits, and the odd glazing fault. Only the oval serving bowl and cover ring when pinged. All pieces show rubbing to the gilt highlights, extensive in places.
