The painting has been re-lined.
The painting looks clean under UV light with minor patches of overpainting. There are however ultra-violet pen postcodes, both on the boy's hat and in the upper left corner, from the previous, now deceased, owner. The signature is clear lower right.
The frame has small knocks, minor discolouration. There is some 're-gilding' using gold coloured paint.
