AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY WW1 CHOCOLATE SOLDIER, POSSIBLY BY PASCALLS, CIRCA 1916, the moulded figure dressed in a paper cap with foil badge and uniform, height 17cm, in a distressed card box believed to be contemporary, the lid bears a handwritten inscription 'With love to mother from Gussie, Ap 4th 1916', together with a letter from Cadbury Ltd dated July 1990 relating to the soldier and accompanying copy from a page taken from Pascalls Catalogue in 1916 which lists a range of figural chocolate fancies, see no.6950 which lists a soldier as one of the designs (2) (Condition report: the chocolate has cracked and is disintegrating at the back of the head and neck, hands and toes are also damaged in places, paper uniform has staining)
