Of Naval History Interest: a collection of items comprising the military biography of Commander Francis H Stevens who served in the Royal Navy from 1902 to 1946 (broken service) including: Medals - Meritorious Service, Long Service and Good Conduct, Jubilee Medal, 1939-45 Medal, Defence Medal, 1914-1919 medal, 1914-1918 medal and Military MBE, plus ribbon bar; braided epaulettes (by Gieves), hat and gloves; air horn whistle; white metal napkin ring engraved with the names and dates of the ships served on (21 in total); and an extensive collection of documents and photographs including a manuscript of a speech by the subject outlining his experiences in the Royal Navy, MBE citation, newspaper cuttings, a school project life history compiled by the subject's great grandson, including marriage and death certificates, wartime postcards and photographs, and military commissions.
