A GEORGE III PAIR CASE VERGE POCKET WATCH by J Stedman Red Lion Street (Britton) in 22ct gold case No 73B hallmarked 1785, signed movement Stedman Jun No 1004 London, steel balance wheel, diamond end stone set within a blued steel screw down collet, foliate pierced and engraved balance cock, turned pillars, blued steel screws and silvered disc regulator, white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and minute ring, gilt beetle and poker hands, the outer case polychrome enamelled to the centre with a dancing bacchante and seated flute player within a royal blue guilloche surround (at fault) with key and inner lace guard, approximate diameter 43mm. Movement - is not currently functioning
Movement - appears original, all the blue screws have witness marks
Dial - cracking and crazing between 5 & 6, scratch below 11, crack near 2, all visible in published images
Hands - appear original and in good condition
Lunette - appears original, glass in good condition
Case - inner plain, two slight dents to the back edge,
outer, some omissions in the enamel
Hinges - all hinges are closing good and fit for purpose
Bow - appear original and in good condition, but does not fit the hand square
