AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY PORCELAIN TOPOGRAPHICAL COFFEE CAN OF NEOCLASSICAL DESIGN
probably KPM, with high scrolled eagle and cornucopia handle, flared rim, the cylindrical body finely enamelled with architectural view, possibly the Leipziger Platz, Berlin, the rear decorated with anthemions and leaves, within gilded rims, raised on three paw feet, 11.5cm high x 9.5cm diameter; together with a similar associated saucer, 3cm high x 13cm diameter, unmarked (2)
Note: Neo-Classical wares such as this were produced by a variety of European makers, most notably Paris but also in the UK, with Swansea producing a very similar model of porcelain coffee can. Whilst this example is unmarked, our feeling is that KPM is more likely due to the enamelled Germanic/Continental view.
