Captain Haughton Forrest (Boulogne 1825 - 1924)"Her Majesty's Yacht Victoria and Albert," O.O.C., depicting the steamboat yacht with flags flying high, and other boats surrounding, off the coast of Cowes in the Isle of Wight, approx. 46cms x 76cms (18" x 30") signed lower left, with inscribed gilt mount, oak frame. (1)úHMY Victoria and Albert was a 360-foot steamer, launched in 1855, and served as a royal yacht down to 1900. Beresford served on her as a sub-lieutenant for eight months in 1868. She was present at the Royal Yacht Squadron Regatta in August of that year, accompanied Queen Victoria to Cherbourg for a short trip to Paris, and then went into dock for major repairs.
