Medals (3) of 2325 (275362) Private George Henry Wagstaffe of the Essex Regiment. 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal 1914-1920, and Allied Victory Medal 1914-1918. A resident of Plaistow, London. Enlisted at West Ham on 14 th September 1914. Embarked for service overseas on 24th July 1915. Landed in Gallipoli on 10th August 1915 with 6th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Admitted to St. George's Hospital, Malta on 24th October 1915. Medically invalided to England on 4th December 1915. Returned to duty and rejoined the 6th Battalion, Essex Regiment on 16th September 1916 in Egypt. Discharged on 29th June 1919.
