A nameplate, MABEL, from a London & North Western Railway Precedent Class 2-4-0 No 619 built at Crewe as Works No 2400 in October 1880 and named after George Stephenson's mother. The locomotive was rebuilt at Crewe, Works No 3614, in December 1896 as a Renewed Precedent. It was allocated the LMS number 5060 but was scrapped in May 1926 before receiving it. Engraved brass with wax infill, 42" long, on wooden mount. It became a celebrity engine when it took part in the Stephenson Centenary celebrations at Newcastle in 1881.
