A blue and white hexagonal lidded ginger jar by W. M. Adams, in the pattern Chinese Bird, with panelled decoration depicting exotic birds surrounded by flowers, and Oriental figures in landscapes, surrounded by a blue and white mosaic pattern. Foo dog finial to lid. Marked under, 'reg. no. 623294, This pattern was introduced by William Adams in 1780, being a copy of a Chinese pattern and one of the first of its style produced in English Pottery, W.M. Adams.' Approx. 13" high.
