The pair of doors, the side, top and back panels and the drawer fronts are made of huanghuali. The drawer linings are made of another hardwood. The central pierced bird and flower panel to the top and pair of doors have been applied later and are pinned in position and could be removed. The corner hinge lock plate side handles and the majority of the drawer handles appear to be original. One of the drawer handles is a later replacement of a different shape. The back panel and the back edge of the top has a split and large loss with some old glue around the area there is also an inserted piece of wood at the side of the back panel. The left hand cupboard door is slightly warped and sprung on the hinge, otherwise in reasonable condition.
