Rare Arts and Crafts coffer chest, attributed to  Heals, with tapering sides, angled rising top, enclosing a lift-out tray and compartment above two drawers, with recessed pulls, inlaid with lozenges of coramandel and nickel, the ends with angled projections, c1898, 122cm x 56cm (at base). 91cm. high. Unlabelled but see The Millinery Works Celebrating 200 Years ... at Heals exhibition, 2010, for a similar piece. The inlay to lozenge is cracked and lifting to most lozenges to hinged top. Has a lift out compartment to interior.
the coffer opens and closes with key. Further age wear to inlaid lozenges to front. Drawers open freely. Minor losses to back left and right corners. No areas of woodworm. Replacement locks to hinged top. All over age surface marks and minor colour fading.
