A Chinese porcelain celadon ground blue and white jar and cover, probably Guangxu period (1875-1908), of flattened globular form, painted with three figures carrying auspicious objects in a fenced garden, the cover with pointed knop, painted with three bats, wax seal and old labels to base and beneath cover, 9½in. (24.1cm.) high, later hardwood stand. Chip, plus two smaller chips beside it, to underside of rim. Star glaze crack to inside (not visible to exterior) and some glaze scratches to exterior, no other faults.
