A British Red Cross Society First-Aid Proficiency Medal named to 022869 J.S. Shopland, A similar unnamed award for proficiency in Junior Red Cross Work and a miniature, in cases of issue, one inscribed 'Marilyn Platt'. With an unusual French 'Hospital-Rescuers Britons' association award named to Geo. Armstrong 1908, this appears to be a body which was formed in 1873 to advance safety particularly at sea and perform rescues wherever possible. 4 awards.
