A RARE CHARLES II CARVED OAK COFFER WITH DRAWER, CUMBRIA/LANCASHIRE, DATED 1671. Having a boarded hinged lid, the front with four square panels, each carved with stylized hooked motifs, above a long drawer, again with four similar shaped and carved reserves, the top rail with S-scroll carving, flanked by the carved initials 'I W' over '16 71', on extended stile supports, twin panelled sides with chain-carved rails, unusual boarded back, 113cm wide, 75cm high. 54cm deep.
