A Victorian pine and painted child's rocking horse 1.3m x 1.1m
Fair-Good: In fair-good condition overall, but possibly some or all of the lot has slight wear/damage/fading in line with the age of this lot.
Likely by F. H. Ayres, London - turned ring to top of baluster columns on stand, the hoof rails with pointed ends, the head inclining slightly to the right. All tack/leatherwork dried and brittle, some losses. Mane and tail present but thinned and shortened. Crack lines to top of each leg. Losses to paintwork throughout, some small and superficial and other areas with deeper losses through to newspaper underneath. Drilled hole through saddle to each side of body, passing right through the centre. Painted pine stand with scuffs, dings and marks throughout commensurate with use. Slight play in stand joints but generally sturdy. Small areas of old worm evident to stand, feet, front upright and ears, no sign of any active or recent damage. (see additional images)
