Japanese WWII period officer's sword in standard Schin Gunto fittings with chord bound shark skin grip, gilt metal Minuki and bronze Tsuba in painted metal scabbard. (B.P. 21% + VAT)
Scabbard has various dents and is scratched, corroded and worn. Stud functions OK. Blade is 72cm approx. Scabbard 74.5cm approx. Blade has deep tarnish/corrosion. We don't believe the blade has been plated. Have been unable to remove bamboo peg without causing damage, so tang is not accessible. Additional images added.
