George I visit to the City of London table commemorative, copper medal, 1880, by G G Adams, struck for the Corporation of the City of London, bare head l, GEORGE I KING OF THE HELLENES, rev. Londinia and Britannia welcome Hellas, views of the Parthenon and St Paul’s Cathedral beyond, D: 76mm. George I was the second son of Christian IX of Denmark. He was assassinated in 1913 by Alexandros Schinas, a known anarchist. 400 specimens struck. In fitted case with gilt lettering (losses to case).
