A scarce late 19th Century example, the flap faced with dark blue cloth edged with silver artillery pattern lace and bearing Royal Arms, flanked by oak leaf and laurel sprays in silver embroidery. “THIRD” padded crimson velvet scroll over silvered metal gun with revolving wheel resting on padded crimson velvet tri-part scroll “ESSEX ARTILLERY VOLUNTEERS”. White metal suspension loops complete with closure tongue and foul weather cover ... accompanied by a regimental pattern belt of silver lace with ornate buckle, tip and slide. Overall GC (3 parts)
