Posey ring with rock crystal setting, c. 17th - 18th century. The ring has a D-shaped band, inscribed around the interior 'Let vertu guide thee'. The thick rectangular bezel is set with a faceted rock crystal gem, beneath which sits gold wirework on a dark background. The sides of the bezel are decorated with a line of triangular beading. Disclaimed as treasure and recorded on the PAS database as SWYOR-3EC12E. Ring size: UK P, US 7+3/4. 21mm diameter (19mm internal), bezel 9mm x 6mm, 2.8g.
