DEVON MANUSCRIPTS : a collection of mainly single sheet legal document on paper, petitions, ordnances, appointees, judgements, etc. i.e. '' the Lords of the Treasury or whom it may concern the sum of sixty pounds by me paid on the conviction of one housebreaker and two bullock stealers, at the last Summer Assize held in and for the said county of Devon ... etc.'' Many signed by the Devon Sheriffs, 1632 is the earliest, most of the bifolio examples are 18th century.
