Hammer price £7,200 - IMPRESSIONIST AND MODERN ART AND CERAMICS Sale, 25 Oct 1995. The picture was catalogued as: Lot 71, Andre LHOTE (1885-1962)Nature morte au pot de cactus�(c.1958), Painting, Oil/Canvas, 60 x 73 cm.(as per public information on Art Price Index). Sold with authentication & provenance from the artist's family in the form of a letter. The owner then 12 years later put the painting up for sale in 2007/8, but the authentication was then subsequently overruled due to lack of current provenance and lost evidence from the only family member - now deceased (letter lost when the painting was sent to France to be re-authenticated). The vendor, and this auction house has no more details to add, and therefore this painting is very much here to be sold purely as a decorative painting, with no authentication, no additional information, and without reserve.)
