EARLY USAGE OF THE NOUMEA TRIANGULAR STAMP-SHORTAGE "PD" MARK ON COVER TO FRANCE; 27 Mar. 1876 stampless env. to Bordeaux by the Pacific route with mainly very fine large black triangular framed "P.D/AFFRANCHI/EN NUMERAIRE/FAUTE DE/TIMBRES COLONIAUX/SCE DES POSTES NELLE CALEDIE" nicely placed on the front with matching boxed "PD" and 2-ring Noumea dotted cds, having a "COL. FR/ANGL PAR CALAIS A" transit cds (24 May) and French backstamps. Plus 1874 stamp-removed env. to Paris with superb 2-ring Noumea cds.
