A FINE 19TH CENTURY 12 BORE SPORTING GUN BY SQUIRES OF LONDON. With twin 74.5cm Damascus barrels, muzzle loading, approximately 11 bore, the central rib signed 'Jas. Squires 14 New Castle St. London, E. numbered '2'. With percussion firing action, the sidelocks finely engraved with game birds, Jas. Squires and decorative scrolling borders. The hammers, and fittings similarly decorated. The trigger guard decorated with a hunting dog, numbered 2398. Set with a gold cartouche with previous owners initials. The finely figured walnut stock with well-cut crosshatching. 119cm overall *Condition: A nice gun in fine condition with slight rubbing to surfaces and occasional light scuffs.
