I PROMISE TO PAY LEWIS PRODLOCK OR BEARER, ON DEMAND, ONE SHILLING - VALUE RECIEVED", and another, similar, for value One Shilling & Sixpence. Printed tête-bêche on card approximately 78mm x 120mm, with manuscript note at top "100 Large Cards May 1832", EF. (The 1816 census lists a Lewis Proudlock of Swindon (near Warton) in Rothbury, Northumberland.) (2)
