A smokebox numberplate, 45448, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 5448 built by Armstrong Whitworth, Works No 1503. New to Crewe North on 14 December 1937, its later sheds included Rugby, Aston, Nuneaton and Heaton Mersey from where it was withdrawn by 26 August 1967 and despatched for scrap to T.W. Ward at Beighton on 28 November 1967. Ex loco condition. (Postage Band: D)
