1900 (June 7) Stampless cover to Scotland headed "on active service" and signed "W.B Ramsey Capt., O.C Lobatsi, 7/6/1900" with datestamps of "MAFEKING / C.G.H" (June 9) and red London Paid (July 7). The enclosed letter includes "I have been to Mafeking ..... I am in full charge of this camp which is now the base for all supplies as also base hospital. I hope to get away in a few days for Bulawayo". Fine and an unusual use of the Mafeking C.G.H datestamp, stated in most books to have only been used during the siege, but used on this cover 23 days after the siege had ended. Photo on Page 84.
