Irish Prince of Wales Own Donegal Militia Victorian Officer waist belt clasp circa 1856-81. Good rare silvered interlocking example. Circlet inscribed DONEGAL MILITIA; seeded centre mounted with Prince of Wales plumes, motto (ICH no longer present) and coronet. Universal pattern rococo ends. GC Raised in April 1793, HQ in 1817 was Ballyshannon, redesignated POW Own Donegal Militia 1855. Gordon Cummings Collection.
