British South Africa Medal Trio including MBE, South Africa Medal with 1879 clasp and Boer War Medal with five clasps 'South Africa 1901, Transvaal, Driefontein, Paardeberg & Modder River' named to: 1788 Serjeant Major Richard Charles Williamson 91st Foot - 1st Bn Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. He served in the Battle of Gingindlovu 2nd April 1879 (Zulu War), he was later promoted through the Ranks and on the 7th of July 1897 he was Commissioned and became Lieutenant & Quartermaster of the 1st Bn A&S Highlanders, later getting a M.I.D., on the 10th Sept 1901, he was then promoted to Capt on the 27th Sept 1901. Having retired in 1908 he was recalled as Recruiting Officer during WWI serving as a Major and on the 7th Jan 1918 he was awarded the MBE for his services in the Greenock Sub Area. It comes with a photograph and short history of his illustrious service in Africa and later WWI.
