A LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY SILVER PLATED SAMOVAR/TEA URN, the squat baluster body, acanthus leaf rim, scroll handles, carved ivory insulators, embossed lid, acanthus leaf finial, raised on a square platform base with circular feet, with removable inner metal cylinder for heating, inner edge of lid stamped RL, approximate height 410mm (condition report: IMPORTANT NOTE, This lot contains elephant ivory material. Please be advised that several countries, including those in the EU and the USA, now prohibit the importation of ivory items unless under specific conditions. Accordingly, prospective buyers should familiarize themselves with the relevant customs regulations of their country and ensure they are able to import this item prior to bidding. This item has been registered as exempt from the UK Ivory Act 2018, on account of it being made before 1947 with less than 10% Ivory by volume. Ivory declaration submission reference: H2R67AE8, condition heavy tarnishing, you can see the copper showing through in quite a few of the raised areas, a dint to the back of the baukster body, a couple of smaller dints to the back, the lid has a dint to the edge of the embossed pattern, finial is slightly off centre)
