ROWLAND WARD, AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY TAXIDERMY CHEER PHEASANT.
Rare and unusual Cheer Pheasant (Catreus wallichii) of Himalayan origin, mounted by 'The Jungle' Rowland Ward, Piccadilly, London (etched internally on glass), circa 1910. Well-modelled in profile and presented in a typical all-glass case, stood upon faux grassy base with leaves and ferns, enclosed in a long table-top case, glazed to five sides with buff coloured taped frame.
