AN EARLY VICTORIAN YELLOW METAL MOURNING BROOCH, of an oval form, depicting a split pearl and one very small diamond chip floral pattern within a black surround with scrolling rim, yellow metal reverse engraved 'Mary Home died 23 Nov 1845 aged 79', with a central oval compartment inlayed with brown woven hair beneath a glazed panel, fitted with a brooch pin and C clasp, unmarked metal, approximate dimensions length 41.9mm x width 36.3mm, approximate gross weight 18.1 grams (condition report: general light wear in keeping with age, would benefit from a gentle clean and polish, brooch pin in working order)
