A scarce mid 17th century English oak marquetry court cupboard, Elizabethan style, Leeds Area, Yorkshire, the canted 'press cupboard' with bold acanthus carved cup and cover supports, three marquetry fielded panels, the central door panel opens to reveal niche, inlaid with bog oak, holly and fruitwood with symmetrical floral detail, the conforming stepped  base with intermitted geometric and Tudor rose carved frieze monogrammed 'E R S' to centre, above a pair of cupboard doors, enclosing storage niche, flanked by stylised thistle and blackberry panels and a guilloche band lower panel, stile feet. 140cm high, 153cm wide, 57cm depth, c.1650
