Fees

A late 19c French mantel clock in gilt brass case inset with champleve enamel panels. The Gothic inspired case has an arched top surmounted by appointed cupola and four pointed finials surmount for four bulbous free standing columns to the corners, the front two of which have cherubs holding them. All the panels to the front and sides of the case are decorated with blue ground champleve enamel designs and the 9cm diam dial s also similarly decorated and has Roman numerals. The Two movement rack strikes on a bell and the base of the case is stepped and has four pairs of bun feet. The clock stands 43cm tall overall.

More Information

The case metalwork is commplete with only slight tarnishing to the gilding apart from the back door frame. The enamel work seems complete. The movement needs a new pendulum suspension spring but strikes and seems otherwise complete.
