Caroline Lees (contemporary), Icon after the original 'Moses before the Burning Bush', (original in The Monastery museum of Saint Catherine's Monastery at Mount Sinai, Egypt), egg tempera on wooden panel, signed in pencil verso and dated March 2010, 29.8 x 21.4cm. Also in the lot is another icon, artist unknown, with note verso 'Given by Ann Hutley Dec 2009'.

Caroline initially trained at the Corcoran Gallery School of Art in Washington DC and then the Slade School of Art in London.
Caroline studied icon painting and advanced gilding techniques. In 2004 she was commissioned to paint 14 Stations of the Resurrection for the publication ‘Way To Life’ published by Redemptorist Publications in 2006 and Liguori Publications in the USA in 2007. She has exhibited with the British Association of Iconographers and the Royal Academy London.
