A GEORGE III AND LATER OAK LONGCASE CLOCK. incorporating earlier components, the brass dial with Roman numerals and inscribed 'Tho's Quested, Wye', fitted with a later eight day spring driven movement, striking on two bells, 182cm H x 47cm x 27cm W. The maker Thomas Quested worked in Wye as a clock maker during the last quarter of the 18th century. The dial and perhaps parts of the mechanism incorporate his work.
