A large Chinese pale celadon jade magnolia cup, 17th/18th century carved in high relief and openwork with branches in leaves around a central magnolia flower, the stone weight of good evening tone with occasional white inclusions and pale russet veining,
Provenance- from the collection of the vendors late father who collected Chinese works of art in Hong Kong from 1950 to the 1970s. He lived in Shanghai from 1947-48 and became a successful businessman living and working in Hong Kong from 1949 until his death in 1994. 17.5cm high excluding wood stand
Numerous small inclusions and veining to the stone. In good condition with no chips or cracks detected. Later wood stand.
