"ICARA" - EDWARDIAN AUTOMOBILE MASCOT - An Early 20thC radiator embellishment c1918; fine and large winged-female figurative mascot representing the Spirit of Flight & Speed on a winged wheel; unnamed manufacturer, variously stamped to base number 531 and regd. no. 636123 (possibly by Lejeune); superbly-sculpted detail to all surfaces with separate casting for the wings to wheel-hub; heavy cast-bronze with considerably attractive patination; mounted on fluted mahogany plinth base. W/Span 8.75" (22cm) Height 6" (15.2cm) ex-base.
