1939 Dated "GPO" Home Front Steel Helmet
black painted exterior. The front with white painted "GPO". Black treated linen lining. The frame with maker's stamp dated "1939". Rubber, cruciform crown pad loose. Sprung webbing chinstrap. Exterior with paint loss.
Vendor states helmet came from the family of George Fred Harris who was awarded the Imperial Service medal 21/6/1946. He was an overseer for the GPO at Kingston Upon Thames.
