A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COY, HYDE PARK WORKS, 15903, 1903, from a New Cape Central Railway 3ft 6ins gauge 4-8-0 No 5. The Railway and its locomotives were absorbed by South African Railways in 1925 when this engine became SAR Class 7E No 1348. The Class was finally withdrawn by 1972. Cast brass, 7¾" diameter, the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
