A mid Victorian rosewood pedestal needlework box, the box of rectangular form with moulded edge and cut off corners, the lid rising to reveal an original fitted interior with red silk, and containing ten mother of pearl spools, two bone cylindrical boxes with fitted compartments, and having a shaped and carved frieze with a well and supported on a facet carved baluster column with spreading collar on a quatrefoil base with scrolling feet and castors, 56cm w, 75cm h.
