An exceptional 19th century Irish walnut and brass bound military campaign chest, attributed to Gregory Kane of Dublin, the upper section with central secretaire drawer housing four short drawers with turned ebony handles and kingwood cross-banding, above five pigeon-holes, flanked by four short drawers with rebated brass handles stamped ‘Kane’s patent’ above one long drawer, the lower section with two graduated long drawers, on tapering turned supports. C1850.

Condition report: Minor loss to crossbanding and chip to one ebony handle.
