Large Japanese imari trumpet vase, Edo period (late 17th Century), decorated with fish emerging from a plunge pool beneath a waterfall, and birds flying amidst trees, in underglaze blue, terracotta and gilt, height 61cm
There is a hair crack running from the base of the trumpet neck through the body of the vase vertically to the baluster at the base. There is also a firing crack to the foot rim of the base. There is some crackeleure noticeable around the base of the vase. There is wear to the gilt detail around the baluster at the base and wear to the gilt line at the rim.
No further damage detected.
