A worksplate, BUILT 1951, CREWE, from the BR Standard Britannia Class 7MT 4-6-2 No 70010 built at Crewe and named OWEN GLENDOWER after the Welsh chieftain who conducted war against the English on the Wales/England border. Allocated new on 5 May 1951 to Norwich where it spent more than ten years before moving to March and later Willesden, Crewe North, Crewe South and Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 23 September 1967 and sold for scrap on 28 November 1967 to J. McWilliam at Shettleston. Cast iron, 10½"x6", the front lightly cleaned, the number 70010 painted on the back a long time ago. (Postage Band: B)
