Portrait of a Lady holding a blue flower: Some abrasions to the edges with corresponding paint loss. A layer of surface dirt. Scratches and paint loss to upper left corner, lower left and upper right. Retouching to the outer edges visible in natural light. Inspection under UV light reveals minor areas of retouching to the face, to the dress, and scattered retouching to the arms and hands. some of which approx.. 2 cm in width. Double Portrait: Scratches and associated paint loss to upper right corner, lower left, lower right. Stretcher mark to upper edge visible. Uneven surface paint in the background area. A small hole to the left of the child's head. Examination under UV light reveals scattered retouching to the upper edge, right edge. The left edge presents retouching along most the length. Scattered retouching to both figures most notably to the faces, hands, and arms. In addition, a circular restoration of approx. 3cm is visible to the left sitter's decolletage, which covers what was once a hole, as can be noticed by the patch on the verso. Portrait of a lady holding a pink flower: surface layer of dirt, abrasions and associated paint loss to the right and lower edges. Scratches to lower left. A visible dirt stain of approx. 20 cm in length to the upper right quadrant. Uneven surface to the left background. Inspection under UV light reveals dotted retouching to the face, to the decolletage, hand and arms. Such retouches are a couple of millimetres. Scattered retouching to the background. A 7 cm horizontal restoration to the lower right corner, and smaller areas of retouching along the left edge. Sackville-West Moving & Storing will provide an additional week’s free storage if they are instructed by the purchaser to deliver to them.
