19th century continental school - Portrait of Nostradamus Seated at a Desk - oil on panel, framed, 36cm by 44cm.
The surface has craquelure in several areas, there is a visible crack in the panel approximately 8cms long which runs from below Nostradamus' beard into his hand. The painting has been cleaned, the reverse side of the panel has a crack approximately 7cms long and the frame has a couple of small areas of gesso missing.
