8vo (22,2 x 14,5 x 2cm) 148pp. Original dark green hardcover binding, with gilt lettering and inlay to front cover. With frontispiece, various fine monochrome plates, and two fold-out maps, one of which shows positions of the blockhouses from Kimberley southwards.
Inscribed by the Author.
Condition: Very good. Slight rubbing to boards, and minor shelfwear to top and tail of spine. Small closed tears to the gutters between front and rear free andpapers and pastedowns, each less than 1cm. Light foxing to the title page. Text is clean, and copy is well bound.
