Interesting and rare mid 19th century French Empire mantle clock on a musical base. Classical figure leaning on clock, 8 day timepiece, replacement movement as found, signed on side plate and dial Alibert a Paris, the clock is sat on a birds eye maple base, note old worm damage (not live) that lifts up to reveal musical mechanism, The mother of pearl plaque signed in script "Changer" and "Jouer" and then below "Alibert a Paris", all in a glass dome, gilding in exceptionally good condition, dome measures 37 cms x 25 cms, clock measure including stand 30 cms
