each on three rocaille feet, the ovoid body with a cobalt blue ground and rich gilt decoration, featuring three gold-framed cartouches finely painted in the Watteau style, depicting romantic scenes of lovers in pastoral settings, the plug-in lids surmounted by a gilt knop. (2) 15.5cm high
Close examination reveals a small, discreet area of professional restoration to the rim of each piece, where the cover sits. The restoration is of high quality and is difficult to detect visually.
