Star Lot: A lovely large original oil on canvas painting titled "McGillycuddy Reeks, Kilarney" by the established Irish artist Denis Thornton. Depicts the titular mountain range in pastel impressionistic brushstrokes. Signed bottom right and housed in a cream frame. Thornton does well in both the primary and secondary market, fetching up to £2200 at auction.

Denis Thornton was a very talented Post-War & Contemporary Realist Oil Painter, and several of his originals are now held in the Down County Museum Fine Art Collection and the REME Museum in Ireland.
